Our agriculture industry is experiencing unprecedented change, dominated by increased social and environmental awareness. As one of the leading agribusiness firms in the country, Perrin Ag is at the forefront of developing innovative and future-focussed business solutions for farmers and growers.

Our team is dynamic and brings a strong mix of skills and experience to the table. We support each other in our work aspirations, have fun together and thrive in a truly family culture.

We are looking to add several new farm systems consultants to our growing team.  We need those who can create innovative solutions, develop genuine relationships based on trust, and provide sound advice to our clients.

Senior Sustainability Consultant – FULL TIME ROTORUA

Farm, horticultural and forestry businesses are facing increasing regulatory and market-driven challenges. Demand from these sectors for specialist agribusiness expertise to help them navigate these changes means we are searching for another Senior Consultant to join our specialist Sustainability team.

This role has a dual focus. You will provide the complementary expertise needed by farmers and growers to ensure their businesses continue to meet consumer and community expectations around environmental performance. You will also work with them to keep the engine rooms of their operations – their soil and water resources – in peak condition.

What are we looking for?
  • A passion for people and a skill for delivering effective but pragmatic environmental sustainability solutions for farmers and growers.
  • A strong understanding of New Zealand farm systems.
  • Comfort in navigating through New Zealand’s regulatory and quality assurance frameworks.
  • An ability to effectively communicate with both farmers and regulators.
  • Experience with some of the key models and tools used in New Zealand to quantify and manage the externalities from agricultural land use.
  • A tertiary qualification in agriculture, resource management or environmental science is a pre-requisite.
  • New Zealand citizenship or residency visa.

Given on-farm sustainability is a dynamic space, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to help shape the direction of the services and value we offer our customers in this space. This includes both specialist services (e.g. planning and policy development) and those integrated with farm systems advisory, including nutrient management, assessing environmental footprint and optimising water resources.
