Would you like a hand, mate?

08 May 2007

Have you ever cast an envious glance at the grass growing in your neighbour’s paddock? Can’t find the right staff? Can’t get away from the farm? Or maybe even just felt like you needed someone to bounce an idea off?

Because farmers love farming and that takes up time, it can often be difficult for them to sit back and objectively consider their businesses, identify possible problems or opportunities, find solutions and then implement them, particularly by themselves. Helping people take the next step forward in their farming businesses is where a farm consultant comes in.

While this might be as practical as improving your grazing management or suggesting a change in lambing date, it might be as complex as analysing the possible conversion of a neighbouring pine forest, altering stock policies, or establishing an equity partnership. It might also be as simple as sitting down over a cuppa and finding out where it really is that you and your family want to be in the next few years.

While solving problems is an important aspect of the profession, farm consulting is really about helping farmers grow and refine their businesses to achieve the things that are important to both them and their families. Perrin Ag Consultants, registered farm management consultants, can help with all of the above areas by providing expert, professional advice and support.
